WHAT WE DO

We support people and organizations to interrupt cycles of violence and inequality through education, research and development of strategies to promote peace and human rights.

THE SOCIAL PROBLEM WE FACE

We naturalize violence, we fail to identify it and we do not know how to behave and relate non-violently.

THE RESPONSIBLE SOLUTION
WE OFFER

Education for peace and human rights to train people capable of identifying different forms of violence, and recognizing and transforming behaviors and relationships that generate individual and collective suffering.

HOW DO WE SOLVE IT:

We work with

civil society organizations, public authorities and educational institutions

to promote a culture of peace and non-violence.

EDUCATION

Unique learning journeys that combine theory and practice to approach complex topics in a caring way.

RESEARCH

We develop innovative studies that gather evidence on the impact of education for peace and human rights in promoting non-violence, equality, inclusion, security, justice and accountability.

STRATEGIES

We update and create policies, processes and strategic plans that support organizations to promote a culture of non-violence and mitigate abuses and rights violations.

OUR SPICY:

Our pedagogy and methodology consider four dimensions of knowledge - ME, WE, EVERYONE and EVERYTHING - and place emotions at the centre of the learning process. These dimensions allow access to a systemic understanding of oneself, society and nature, prioritizing interaction with knowledge from the Global South.

We approach peace and human rights from a decolonial, feminist and affective perspective and are guided by the concept of  "Political Spirituality", which facilitates the fusion of spiritual and political knowledge so that people come to terms with their own stories at the same time they take responsibility for confronting the structures that cause individual and collective suffering.

WHAT THOSE WHO JOINED US SAY

I am Bia, an employee of the public defence of the state of Mato Grosso and I was fortunate to participate in the course, because, from then on, I began a courageous process of deconstruction, both in my professional and personal life. My view of others went beyond the shallow and today I see, before any stereotype, the human being who presents himself before me, with total respect for his life, origin, culture, choices and decisions. The way Gabi led us, her sweet and welcoming speech, even when dealing with issues that broke our hearts, had such influence and meaning that today I am a postgraduate student in Human Rights and have found my place in academic law training.

Thankful, and very grateful for having been educated in Human Rights through the Think Twice Brasil course, as I accessed tools that truly humanized me, allowing me to make the much-desired change in the world every day. Fraternal hugs, of respect and admiration for the impact made through TTB!

Beatriz Leal - Public Defender of the State of Mato Grosso
